She also felt guilty about Draco. She had succeeded in her plans but she had never imagined the amount of pain she saw in his eyes. She saw how it hurt him to try and stay interested in Ginny. Hermione thought that he was trying to forget about her by being with Ginny and she could tell it was not working. He couldn't keep his eyes off her and she couldn't keep her eyes off him. Harry's eyes were closed in enjoyment so it didn't matter that she wasn't looking at him back. Deep down, she imagined that Harry was Draco. She thought back to the night in the dungeons when she had let things go too far. She wished she had. Draco would never go near her now. But did she want him to? Did she want him all over her? Or did she want him to suffer? She didn't want either. She wanted Draco not to hide his feelings for her. She wanted to be happy and that meant not being with Harry and it did not mean trying to use whoever she could to get Draco. But she had to convince him to do the same. Being happy meant that she had to be herself. She wanted Draco and she knew he wanted her too, no matter how much he'd try to deny it. The question was, would he be able to forgive her? As soon as Draco entered the Great Hall the next day, he was surrounded by people. People who were all talking about Hermione. Hermione and Harry. They were the talk of the school. The hot news. Girls whispered ear to ear about how they had loved each other since the first year and that they had predicted it would happen soon. Other girls displayed their jealousy with sneering looks and devilish glares. And then he saw them. Harry was whispering in her ear while she tried to laugh at his jokes. Harry would sweep Hermione's hair from her face and cover her cheek with kisses. Hermione would turn red, with embarrassment, shame and humiliation not shyness. Draco could tell that she wasn't happy. He could feel it. Yet he was still so mad at her for making him want her so desperately. He had never meant for things to get so far and he hated himself for it. His sudden realisation dawned on him as he sat witnessing Hermione's fraudulence with her new boyfriend. He did like her. He liked her more than was necessary. Hermione saw Draco. He turned around and left the hall as soon as their gazes met like a love-struck teenager. He had Herbology with her next, so he rushed outside thinking about his next move and to clear his head. Hermione and Harry walked toward the greenhouses with Ron at their side. Ron was still rambling and walking uncomfortably with his arms flailing in the light breeze. "...I'm fine with you two being together. I mean, I am not bothered in the slightest. In fact I've got my eye on someone too. Yeah..." Hermione didn't say anything. She knew Ron was affected by their recent decision, but she couldn't care less. In fact, the only upside of being with Harry was that Ron was so uneasy. "Who?" Harry asked with his arm wrapped around Hermione's waist. Slowly and sneakily, she tried to edge away but didn't succeed. "That's for me to know and you find out." Ron stalked ahead, either in anger or formulating a plan to get a girl. Hermione went to enter Greenhouse Five, but Harry pulled her back and kissed her roughly on her chapped lips. "Harry," she protested. He pulled away. "What?" "Not the time." Hermione hated herself. In the corner of her eye, she noticed Draco leaning on an oversized plant pot, staring through the glass at them. His shirt was messy and hanging out of the front of his trousers. He looked like he had not sleep all night - which was true. Beneath his eyes were greying and the whites of his eyes were turning red. The blonde twists of his hair hung over his eyes in a messy clump and his head was low. The first few buttons of his shirt were undone and his tie was loose by his heavy chest. He wasn't wearing his cloak and his arched back was visible beneath the thin sheen of his shirt. Hermione pushed Harry further away from her and walked into the greenhouse, joining Hannah Abbott by the front behind a high bench with a writhing green creature sat atop of it. Harry frowned, but followed her in and sat beside Ron waiting for class to begin. "Dumped Potter already?" Draco whispered to Hermione over the front of his desk. Hannah turned, suspicious. "What concern is it of yours?" Hermione gulped nervously. She could just about feel his breath on her neck. His voice had trembled when he spoke. Hermione turned to face him and her expression surprised him. She looked concerned, sad. "I'm sorry. I -" Hermione began. Hannah swung around, incredulous. "Excuse me? You have no right talking to her like that. You have no right to be here. Weren't you a death eater at one point...?" The class quietened down, everyone listening.
